SUNY Marksman win Championship

The Plattsburgh State Marksmanship Club traveled to the Coast Guard Academy on March 2nd to particpate in its second straight Conferance Championship match.  They fired a 2115 in air rifle and  a season high 2080 in smallbore to win both matches.  Its their second straight air rifle title and first championship title in smallbore.   The team finished the regular season 7-2 in smallbore tied for second overall in the MAC Rifle Conferance.   The team was led at the Championship by Junior Christina Dunn who fired a  550 in Air Rifle & 522 in smallbore and by  Sophmore Kimberly Quinn who shot a 535 in Air Rifle and 522 in Smallbore.  Other Counting scores were fired by Seniors Mike Buck  523 Air/ 518 Smallbore and Dylan Gladd  508 Air/ 515 smallbore.   Junior Justin Yeaple contributed a 487 Air and 467 Smallbore. 

MIT, John Jay College, Canisius and the US Coast Guard Academy also participated in the event.   The team also competes in the National Rifle League and are currenlty in 3rd in the Northern Division with three matches to go.   The team practices at the Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club under the direction of head Coach Peter Visconti and Assistant Coaches Jayce Ashline, Erich Pflanz,  and Tom Pillsworth.
