PISTOL MATCH
Thank you to everyone who participated in our LEO Pistol Match this past weekend. We had 14 agencies represented with 9 teams and 28 shooters. The funds raised $280 will help the SUNY Plattsburgh Rifle Team purchase part of a case of practice ammunition. Their program helps introduce the sport of target shooting to a lot of students. We hope to hold another LEO Pistol Match on September 24th. We will keep our eyes open in case a local LEO family needs assistance, if not NCCS High School is starting an air rifle team and will be seeking donations to purchase shooting equipment.
Thank you to all our volunteers, Dave Boise, for running our match (VP & Pistol Director) and Ian Dunbar (Club Chair of the Board). Range Safety Officers; Andrew Visconti, Robert Jean. Official Scorers; George Abrams and Beverly Gates. Glenda Rowe for manning the kitchen and cleaning the clubhouse. Erich Pflanz, John Thibodeau for cooking and helping in the range.
Congratulations to US Customs and Border Protection, with a team score of 503.64, on placing first. They were led by the shooting of Matt Chutjian who fired a 146.97. Matt was also our top shooter for the day.
Second place went to NYS DOCCS, with a score of 566.86. Eric Kragle with a score of 166.23 was the third-place individual shooter.
NYSP Troop B; took third place with a score of 590.09. They were led by the shooting of Dean White who shot a 151.44, the second-best individual score of the day.
Burlington PD was just behind with a 612.09 in fourth place. They were led by Noah Racette with a score of 186.74.
Please consider visiting and hopefully becoming a member of the Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club. The club is very Law Enforcement friendly, (offer a LEO discount) has programs that include a rifle and pistol league, a women’s program, very active youth program and archery. They have rifles that you can borrow at no charge and of course offer instruction. The club sits on Woodriff pond with excellent fishing. Members can also hunt on our property.
